The studio · Est. 2016
Roomantic began in 2016 with two drawing boards, one borrowed workshop, and a conviction that Indian homes deserved quieter, better-made rooms.
Nine years later we are a team of twenty-two architects, interior designers and project managers working across the country — but the method hasn’t changed. We take on few projects, draw everything ourselves, and stay on site until the last shelf is styled.
The studio keeps a materials library of over 400 samples, a workshop for furniture prototypes, and a long memory of which craftsman lays the straightest chevron floor in every city we build in.
How we think
We believe the best rooms are the ones you stop noticing — where light, proportion and material are so well resolved that the space simply feels inevitable. That takes fewer gestures, chosen harder.
01
We study the sun on every site before drawing a single wall. Rooms are placed where their hours of light are.
02
Lime plaster, stone, timber and brass — materials that weather into character instead of wearing out.
03
We draw everything and make most of it within reach of the site, working with master craftspeople we've known for years.
04
No showpiece rooms. Every space earns its keep in daily life — or it doesn't make the plan.

The journey
A fixed sequence with fixed deliverables — so you always know where the project stands, what you're approving, and what happens next.
We start with your life, not our portfolio: how you wake, cook, gather, work, rest. Site study, measured survey and a brief we write together.
Concept design — plans, volumes, palettes and reference imagery. We present two directions and refine one until it feels inevitable.
Every drawing needed to build: joinery details, lighting layouts, stone schedules, and a transparent bill of quantities.
Our site team runs weekly reviews with photographic documentation, so you always know what happened, what's next and what it costs.
Furniture lands, art goes up, shelves are dressed. We hand over a home — then come back at six months to see how it's living.
